Vertical Lift Module Store More in Less Space
The Kardex Shuttle Vertical Lift Module (VLM) features an enclosed shelf-based storage system designed to increase capacity in a more compact footprint.
Using the goods-to-person principle, it delivers stored items directly to the operator, reducing time spent walking, searching and bending while supporting faster, more accurate and ergonomic picking.
Its modular design maximises vertical storage capacity and can adapt as inventory requirements change, making it suitable for growing manufacturing, distribution and warehouse operations.

What is limiting your warehouse operation?
-
Fragmented Storage
Inventory spread across multiple locations can make critical parts and equipment harder to find and retrieve.
-
Limited Inventory Visibility
Incomplete stock and location data can create uncertainty during maintenance and replenishment.
-
Controlled Access
High-value parts, tools and equipment may require authorised access, reliable transaction records and clearer asset accountability.
-
Time Lost Searching
Walking between storage areas and manually checking stock reduces time available for maintenance.
-
Space Constraints
Conventional shelving can consume valuable floor space as inventory requirements grow.
-
Limited Scalability
Existing storage may struggle to support changing inventory volumes and future operational needs.

Kardex Shuttle 200/250
Flexible solution for small parts and lightweight goods
The Kardex Shuttle 250/500 is a flexible solution for storing and easily accessing small-volume articles. With a tray width of 4,050 mm, it loads up to 560 kg per tray. The Kardex Shuttle 250/500's compact unit design allows it to adapt to space requirements, offering maximum storage volume in minimum floor space and a maximum height of 30 meters. As a further option, the system easily modifies to a wide range of requirements. For example, for storing goods in air-conditioned units or under clean room conditions.
Kardex Shuttle 700
Highly compact storage for medium loads
The Kardex Shuttle 700 stores and retrieves goods. With a tray width of 4,050 mm, it loads up to 725 kg per tray. It adjusts to a device height of 20,050 mm making it suitable for large storage volumes. The Kardex Shuttle 700 is ideal for efficiently storing and easily retrieving heavy tools, components, or spare parts. It is extremely flexible thanks to a number of different options that easily integrate before or after installation. The units can expand, decrease, modify, or adapt in various ways to cater to changing needs including operational reasons, a new application, or a relocation.
Kardex Shuttle1000
Offers added value in a straightforward way – manages heavy duty loads up to 1,000 kg
Unparalleled high performance. With a tray width of 4,050 mm, it loads up to 825 kg per tray. Achieving new load-carrying capacity standards, it's ideal for storing medium-heavy to heavy parts. Using a forklift truck, stack and store EURO pallets and mesh boxes in special trays. This saves space and makes it possible to find goods faster, helping to lower costs, boost productivity, and increase safety. A factory-installed crane is used to move stored goods easily, decreasing working times and costs. Optimized ergonomics and excellent safety are two important advantages and essential to employees.
By using the available building height, a Kardex Shuttle can reduce the floor space required for storage by up to 85% compared with conventional shelving. Actual savings will depend on the building, inventory profile and system configuration.
A VLM can accommodate a wide range of items, including small parts, tools, components, spare parts and sensitive materials. Adjustable tray heights allow items of different sizes and weights to be stored within the same system.
Yes. A VLM can operate as a stand-alone solution or be integrated with warehouse management, enterprise resource planning and other host systems. The appropriate software configuration will depend on your existing processes and operational requirements.
Yes. Additional units can be added as storage demand grows. The system configuration, inventory allocation and software can also be adapted to support changing operational requirements.
A VLM may be suitable if your operation is short on floor space, stores a large number of items, experiences time-consuming picking or requires better inventory control and ergonomics. Your inventory profile, picking volume, available building height and existing workflow will help determine whether it is the right solution.
Important considerations include the available ceiling height and floor space, floor loading capacity, power supply, access for installation and applicable building or fire regulations. Kardex will assess the site and operational requirements before recommending a suitable configuration.
Yes. Kardex provides local service and technical support throughout the lifecycle of your VLM. This includes installation, preventive maintenance, repairs, spare parts and technical assistance to help keep your system operating reliably.
